Started making slings in March '23. At first it started as a side hobby, mainly because I wanted something that had a little more padding than my favorite BFG Vickers sling. A sling I was very familiar with, and had seen some fair amount of use during my time in the Marine Corps as a (literal) keyboard warrior in the aviation side. My fondness for firearms didn't just stop at guns. I spent a good amount of time on the range trying different plate carriers, chest rigs, holsters, clothing setups, and most importantly.... Slings. I connected with friends on the infantry side and together we would LARP- I mean train.... and test out gear quite often. I quickly noticed that while the BFG Vickers sling was very good and durable, my LBT sling was always quicker to adjust, and did not snag as quick. Another complaint my friends and I had was the thinness of the padding.
With all these in mind.. I designed my first sling. It wasn't anything revolutionary, and anyone could probably make one. But immediately after the first sling, I made my v2. and then my v3. My third sling was the one I was finally satisfied with actually testing. Thicker padding than anything I've ever used. I sold them to my friends and some people online for fairly cheap and had them test it. To my surprise, they loved it. I had my m240b gunner buddies ecstatic. The simple webbing sling they were issued didn't hold a candle to my TangSlang. Gone were the days of shoulder pain and neck chaffing.
By the end of 2023, just under 500 slings were in the hands of individuals in 3 other countries, most of our military branches, police, hunters, and flat range warriors.
It was time for TangSlangs v4. The current and final iteration of the TangSlang.
Thicker padding. More colors.
By the end of 2024. Over 1500 slings were floating around.
55 padded colors. 23 slick colors.
Thanks to my many customers over the past year abusing my slings, I'm proud to say that these are proven in all environments! On M240b's, through the mountains in the PNW, in the rain, sleet, snow, desert, and tiny backwoods forest... From Austrialia, to Germany, Denmark, UK, and Norway... Back home to the good ole USA. Thank you all for your support. Without you guys, I wouldn't have kept this up for so long. I am glad to be able to craft such a quality, improved padded sling for you guys. Whether you use it in the military, during hunting season, or just destroying trash on the flat range...
Thank you.
